We have taken our maki-e treatment of the beloved TWSBI ECO to a whole new level - not just the maki-e paintings we are known to do, but the full treatment of "Tamenuri".  And on a TWSBI ECO!!!

"Tamenuri" is a traditional maki-e technique where the artist layers lacquer repeatedly to achieve a profound Bordeaux gradient. As the pen is held and used, the lacquer gains transparency, transitioning into an even more exquisite and vibrant depth of color over time.

On the transparent barrel is the hand painted maki-e pattern of the auspicious "Shippo-tsunagi."  The interlocking circles, expanding infinitely in every direction, signify "harmony" and "eternal connection."

It is a perfect union of modern functional beauty with traditional elegance of an art form passed down through generations...

About the TWSBI ECO
The ECO has a simple design with a large ink capacity thanks to its excellent piston filling mechanism.
Its transparent barrel puts the beauty of the ink in full display.  The nibs offer a smooth writing experience that make you forget they are steel nibs.  This is a wonderful pen even for beginners of the fountain pen hobby.
