Kachofugetsu Estie Fountain Pen - BUNGUBOX x Esterbrook

The Japanese language has many words to express the beauty and serenity of nature.

One of them is "Kachofugetsu"(Flower, Bird, Wind, Moon).

About two years ago, we were approached by Esterbrook for a collaboration, and I decided to do a four part series on this theme.

The first release was "Flower", and it was based on the beautiful Someiyoshino cherry blossom.

It was a popular pen with a transparent barrel and pink cherry blossoms scattered within.

We were grateful that it sold out quickly.

The pen is based on Esterbrooks most popular model, the Estie.

For our second release for the series, the bird, we chose the Kingfisher!

Also known as the jade of the riverbed, its green-blue body and orange chest offer a beautiful contrast.

The Kingfisher in its flight is a beautiful sight to behold!

The barrel we chose to represent this beautiful Kingfisher is made using DiamondCast, a high-end material that contains actual diamond particles.

While it isn't transparent, its fine glitters give it a depth that offers a great rendition of the beauty of the Kingfisher.

This pen was designed by our president, Kaoru Yamagishi.

These wonderful photographs were provided by Mr. Atsushi Yoshihama, a photographer who is also a fountain pen lover.

We are grateful for his contribution 🙏

The photograph below perfectly captures the notion of Flower & Bird❣️

The photograph below was taken at the San Francisco  Pen Show that took place this August at the Esterbrook booth.

With Kaoru is Bryan Hulser, the brand manager for Esterbrook.

The giant poster behind them is a print of the Kingfisher fountain pen and its packaging
