Blue Bird

This glass pen and ink were made for a pop-up we did at the Shinjuku Keio Department Store back in September 2022.

Since the theme of the event was "Happy Blue...", we filled that blank with "bird"

"The Blue Bird of Happiness"

And made a glass pen and ink based on the fairytale that everybody knows, "The Blue Bird", by Maeterlinck.

In this fairytale, Mytyl and her brother Tyltyl go on a journey to find "The Blue Bird of Happiness", only to find the happiness they were looking for was right in their backyard.

Two shades of blue and a hint of white are mixed together to represent an image of a feather.

A rainbow opal glitters on the top as a symbol of happiness✨

May happiness descend upon you too...🦅
